And John said you were walking a bit at church last week. Your first day of walking at church - Nov 4th, 2007! Then I saw it this week...you're definitely walking all over the place now.
Thanks to one of your contemporaries, Maddy, whose mom Dana passed a lot of wonderful clothes to you, you've got some cute baby patent leather Mary Janes that you wore today for the first time. Your dad put you in them at church today.
(And here's a picture of Maddy just to show you the precious girl who gave you those shoes:)

When I saw you in the black Mary Janes, three thoughts came to my mind:
1) Adorable! (that's usually the first thought that comes to mind when I see you);
2) But people have learned over the past couple decades that stiff shoes, once thought to be the best type of shoes for babies learning to walk, actually hinder foot growth and muscle development;
3) In spite of those shoes not being healthy to wear all the time, they really do make you a sturdier walker. I guess it's because they're so stiff that your feet are kept from rolling to the outside while you walk, which is a normal thing for babies' feet do.
So until you grow out of them, we'll be putting you in those shoes only on Sundays, if only for you to be cute and experience steady walking for a short time, that is until you master it with your own little bare feet.
